Fr. Dairo Rico, Founder
Fr. Dairo Rico was born in Colombia, SA. He attended Seminary in Colombia before transferring to Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans. He was ordained to the Priesthood in the Archdiocese of Atlanta. He is currently a Parochial Vicar at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Peachtree City, GA. While in Seminary in Bogota, Father Rico worked with the Sisters of the Servants of Christ. He was intrigued with the mission of the sisters and their work with underprivileged children and got involved in helping them. Because of his passion for the orphanage, he founded Shepherds of the Meek.
Jimmy Preau, Board Member
Jimmy was born and reared in New Orleans and is a graduate of LSU. He has been married to Sandra for 46 years and they have four grown children and four grandchildren. they are both retired and have lived in Peachtree City, GA for 19 years. Jimmy has served as an Assistant Scout Leader, is a Past Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus, and was involved in parent clubs and fund raising when his children attended Catholic Schools in Louisiana, Alabama, and Florida. Jimmy and Sandra have been involved with Shepherds of the Meek since the founding and have traveled to Colombia with Fr. Rico the last three years to see the work of the nuns of Sievas de Cristo Sacerdote and to assess their needs for financial support.
Alice Rodriguez, Board President
Alice was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. She and her husband have been married for 29 years and have two daughters. She and her husband have been Georgia residents and business owners since 1991. She is currently a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. With first hand personal experience in international adoptions (one from an orphanage) causes which are of most interest to her are, orphaned children specifically those with special needs and reactive attachment disorder.
Carolyn J. Hohenberger, Board Secretary
Carolyn is a native of Toledo, Ohio, a graduate of St. Ursula Academy and studied Legal Assisting at the University of Toledo. She and her husband Gary have been married for 27 years and have been members of Holy Trinity since 2000. They have 2 children, officers in the Coast Guard. Carolyn currently is an Administrative Assistant at Holy Trinity and was a former member of the Toledo Area Legal Association. Carolyn has been a member of Shepherds of the Meek since its inception and handles the arrangements for the annual visits to Colombia.
Andrew F. Gonczi, Board Treasurer
Andy is a native of New Orleans and a graduate of Jesuit High School and Georgia Institute of Technology. He and his wife Peggy have been married for 50 years and have been members of Holy Trinity since 1974. They have four children and six grandchildren. Andy worked for Delta Air Lines for more than 31 years, most of that time in finance and accounting functions, and serves on the board of DALRC Retiree Assistance Program, a 501(c)(3) organization.
Jacque Bates, Board Vice President
Jacque was born in Pittsburgh, Pa. and moved to Peachtree City in 1990. She is married for 43 years and has two children and five grandchildren. She has been an active member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church for 23 years. She serves as a co-trainer for the Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, a Sacristan, Communion to the Sick, and a member of Renew, Why Catholic, and Christ Renews His Parish. She has also served in board positions in local community organizations and school PTO's.
